Gone

Gone is part of a six book long series, (Gone being the first book). Right off the bat the adults in Perdido Beach, California are gone, poof. No warning, and no idea why it happened Sam and more try to figure why there are only kids in this new world of theirs. Not only do they have to deal with the lack parents and people how were running everything strange things start happening to the animals, and kids. The animals are starting to show strange mutations, some humans discover powers arising in them. The is no chance of escape since an impenetrable dome is blocking the way, either holding them in, or holding something out. The is no idea to know what is going on outside the barrier. There is only one way out, if there is even an out, and when their 14th birthday comes they must decide.

In what is so to be known as FAYZ, Fallout Alley Youth Zone, the kids try to survive the bullies, starvation and other elements they never knew could be a possibility.

So this book is a great example of a dystopian book, although to read you must be open to a kind of Si-Fi thrown in. After the first book, after I got over the whole okay-that’s-a-little-different-than-the-norm thing, but at the end of the day it was what made the book such a great series. I would suggest though if you don’t like long series than this series isn’t for you. I definitely liked the book and would recommend it to anyone who likes dystopian books and adventure… maybe?? It’s hard to place what it really goes as. Put it on your list!
